Compound that with the stupid mistake of reinstalling Windohs. I'm quite literally reinstalling everything from stem to stern. And some things are quite working like they used to (such as IE5).
Oh, and reinstalling Windohs didn't repair the problem. The Rescue program that was a part of Norton Utilities fixed it. It nearly said, "Hey! Your CMOS is fucked up. Wanna fix it?"
grrr... I hope MS is broken up...
