09/23/96: Re: New Nixon Site: Nixon's campaign music -- "Nixon's The One"

Hello, all: we're getting ready to put up a web site for the composer of Nixon's campaign song: "Nixon's The One" and I'd like some feedback. We can put up the history of all of how it came about, Richard Kleindienst asking Vic to write the song for an appearance by Nixon here in Phoenix back when. And pictures, etc. Do you think we should put everything up that we've got? And, would anyone be interested in a CD with the original music arrangements, vocal and instrumental, as well as re-orchestrated versions? Vic has all of the rights to this music and has pressed the CDs with his own money. He's got a letter from, GET THIS, BOB DOLE thanking him (Vic) for his contribution to the Republican effort that got Nixon elected. This is an amazing thing because if you knew Vic... Well, let's just say that he was not a typical Republican type. For instance, just for starters, he owned a local supper club that brought in all of the jazz greats -- Duke Ellington, Count Basie, etc. Vic was (& is) well-known for his jazz piano, percussion, and vibe playing. He was quite an influence locally. I know that I myself was directly and indirectly influenced by his presence here. I was a kid in high school and college when Vic's club was in its heyday here. Because of it, some of us went on to become professional musicians. We started an 18-piece rock-'n-roll group, for instance, that opened for Three Dog Night. But, that's another story and I'm getting off point. Vic isn't doing too well in health or monetarily so I'm going to put up this site (I do Web Development now) and I was interested in seeing what you folks in this forum would think. Don't mean to ramble, but a piece of history is about to go online in the next 10 days or so. Your feedback would be invaluable. I don't know of any other newsgroups, so if any of you have any suggestions, I'd really appreciate that as well. Well, ciao baby, for now...Virginia Ikeda P.S. I guess I should at least mention my Company Site, if that's okay, you all. It's at: http://sitesys.com (Now, the Nixon site won't be on our server -- Vic's got some space on Concentric.net and if you all want, I can post the URL when it's really up -- in about 10-14 days). Vic and I are going to drive over to the Yorba Linda Library to talk with them there. Thanks all....
