Uh, excuse me, but where do the words "official documentary" appear in the credits for this film? I believe Stone has been adamant that what he was trying to create here was "his" vision of the man and the era of the 1960's and 70's as well. I for one am glad that Stone chose to make this film instead of one based entirely upon the facts about Nixon as we know them. If he had used just these historical facts it would have made a much weaker film. Ultimately his job was to make a good film that would be entertaining and profitable. As it is here (with historical innacuracies, speculation, and jumbled up time line) it is quite entertaining. There is still a great deal we do not know about Nixon but I am inclined to believe (based upon recent tape releases) that Stone's portrayal is more than fair.
