...how "Spider-Man 2" could have been out for a full 24 hours and not a single Crankylander had made a post claiming to have seen it.
Most of my friends who have seen it (which is a lot, considering I surround myself with movie nuts) weren't that impressed either, although one of them has already seen it 3 times, he loved it so much. The ones who weren't that impressed all mentioned the same thing: it dragged during the non-action scenes, especially the last 10 minutes. I see a pretty serious chance for a critic/audience schism over this one (the opposite of "Butterfly Effect's" schism).
Supposedly it made $5M on Tuesday night. I know "Matrix Reloaded" made more than that ($8M, I think), but it had 10P showings as well as midnight showings, so that's an unequal comparison. I suspect $5M is about the best ever. I couldn't gauge a damn thing about Wednesday theater business -- no crazier than "Shrek 2," really. All sellouts, what'd you expect?
