06/15/03: WWE Bad Blood (aka The RAW PPV) preview:

Posted By: M_H

If the WWE wants to experiment with one-brand PPV's, fair enough, but did they have to get rid of the King of the Ring tournament to do it? I've long been a big KotR fan, and it's sad to see it go. (Also, RAW gets an entire PPV, and there's no matches for Hurricane or Randy Orton?) Anyways, as for this show:

--RAW title: HHH v. Kevin Nash - Hell in a Cell (w. guest ref Mick Foley)

I think the WWE might finally be realizing that noone gives a shit about Kevin Nash - turning their second PPV match in a row into a Hell in a Cell, then throwing the one and only Mick Foley (whose own career-making and career-shortening HitC was 5 years ago this month) into the mix. Since noone gives a shit about Kevin Nash, I think its safe to say that HHH will win here, though I don't think it'll happen due to a Foley heel turn or anything like that - my guess is that Foley will only be around another week or 2 anyways (and will probably promote a book or something), so there's no reason to turn him heel...

Prediction - HHH wins, the crowd still loves Foley.

--Chris Jericho v. Goldberg

Whatever they're paying Goldberg, it's way too much - they seem to be making him look like a chump way too much (having him constantly wrestle members of 3 Minute Sucking, having Jericho get the better of him constantly, etc). The only way he can really get any credibility/look like a decent competator for HHH is for him to pretty much kill Jericho here.

Prediction - Goldberg brutally wins, before losing to HHH at SummerSlam.

--Ric Flair v. HBK

Ahhh, an old-fashioned "Battle of the Legends" - if this match took place about 10 years ago, it would easily have been one of the most talked about matches of the time. As it stands, hopefully they'll both really "bring it" in order to be something more then just "two old has-beens slugging it out". Also, I hope they leave HHH and Randy Orton out of this - this shouldn't be a heavy interference match. I see HBK winning, but Flair being made to look good as well.

Prediction - HBK wins, hopefully after a good match.

--Steiner v. Test - Winner gets Stacy

This looks like a classic "swerve" situation - it would be way too straightforward for Steiner to win, so I see Test winning with Stacy turning heel to get him the win (allows them to get rid of that horrible "domestic abuse" plotline quickly while still keeping Test heel - I've never liked those sorts of storylines).

Prediction - Test wins, Stacy isn't reluctant to join him.

--IC Title: Christian v. Booker T.

Christian's really good at the whole "cowardly heel" bit, but if he's going to keep the belt he needs to be made to look like a better champion. As much as I like Booker T., I think Christian should keep the belt - this is a storyline that could be expanded upon all the way until SummerSlam if done right...

Prediction - Christian wins, via some sort of cheating.

--RAW Tag Titles: La Resistance v. RVD & Kane

I hope that the members of La Resistance can eventually get beyond this silly "cheap heat" gimmick - I'm getting a little tired of some of the xenophobic stuff JR & The King have been saying during their matches. As for this match, they've been leading towards a Kane heel turn for weeks, so this is probably the best time to launch that.

Prediction - La Resistance wins, Kane turns heel.

--The Dudley Boyz v. Rodney Mack & Chris Nowinski

This might be on the PPV, or it might be on HEAT beforehand (since I don't watch HEAT, I might not end up catching this one). As silly as this "NoD 2003" stable is, I see them winning here.

Prediction - Mack & Chris score a victory.

Also, there's a "Redneck Triathlon" between Stone Cold and Eric Bischoff - hopefully it will at least be somewhat entertaining...
