I wholeheartedly agree with your niece. I enjoyed it. At least it is not taking itself too seriously (as so many movies with black people, in them are these days, sadly, like Boyz N The Hood et al.)
I loved NUTTY and have the movie.

It's great to see Eddie Murphy back..(It was the very film he did that I actually saw!I also saw his new one, METRO,but while I enjoyed it I prefered NUTTY PROFESSOR.)
A very fun movie,esp.the dream sequences where he does FROM HERE TO ETERNITY and KING KONG!
