I don't think what they're proposing is even possible. First, blood cells don't have nuclei. They don't reproduce, and so have no need of DNA. Second, any cells that may exist are 2000 years old, and the DNA has probably degraded to the point where it's pretty much useless. Archeologists count themselves lucky to extract DNA samples from extremely well-preserved mummies. They've never managed to get DNA from any Egyptian mummies, who are some of the best-preserved human bodies around.

That being said, these people are insane to even consider the idea.
