Anyway, I'm not sure when the movie will come out (sometime in the next two weeks, I'm sure), but I thought this was interesting. Before the screening began, a rep announced that there were a few shots of the World Trade Center that would be cut from the final version. She just wanted to make us aware that we would be seeing them.
All right, I know that there is some logic behind this idea of editing these shots out, but I'm not entirely sure that I understand it. Are we going to pretend that the towers never existed? They were there when the movie was shot, and they aren't even featured prominently-- if the rep hadn't mentioned it, I might not have even noticed the shots that featured the WTC. Is it perceived as disrespectful to the victims? Because that doesn't make sense to me, either.
