Speaking as someone who has been posting on this site since before the idea of nick registration was implemented, I feel that there really is no such thing as a newbie here. Any clique or class can be divided into two groups: the abusive (ie all the stalkers, Christians, and other such human trash) and the respectable (everyone else). Any other distinction is meaningless since it's less likely than the invention of a painless hair-removal technique that any of us will make any physical contact.
The only reason anyone really posts here is because they have an opinion about something (often bearing no relation to the film) and they want to share it. Occasionally, one of us will want to stir shit, and how well they succeed is determined by how well their result coincides with their goal.
Personally, I think Crankyland and its users reached a creative apex when the Titanic forum was in full swing. After that and nick registration, it was all downhill, especially where the reviews are concerned.
