02/12/01: O Cranky, Where art thy taste?

Posted By: MacDakin

Cranky I must compliment you once more on your wholly ignorant view of a decent movie. 'O Brother Where Art Thou' can easily been seen as film based upon Homer's 'Odyssey.' The great talent that the Coen Bros. bring to this piece is can been seen in that the references to the Greek Epic are tastefully subtle. And as always with films by the Coen Brothers (which are hardly forgetable!), the humor is both low-key and in-your-face hilarious. I for one think that this film marks one of George Clooney's most outlandish and memorable performances. HOWEVER, since this review will most likely NOT be read by anyone other than myself and the indifferent web censor, I will take my leave. I only write this to feel like I stand up to crappy critics like you...
