The storyline of Majestic sounded familiar - it sounds like the same as Sommersby, which is in turn based on an actual incident in Italy in the middle ages.
Rich guy went off to fight in France. Missing, assumed dead. Years later, guy #2 comes back, wounded from the war, says he is /is acclaimed as guy #1. Guy #1's wife insists that yes, it is him. More years pass....then Guy #1 shows up. Despite the fact that he can prove his identity, his wife insists that #2 is the real one (that must have been a happy marriage). Eventually, wife goes back with hubby #1, hubby #2 leaves, and they all die from the plague. Ok, I made up the last part, but I doubt anyone's reading anyway.
