will any bone do or does it have to be a fucking one? Do you usually get a cut of porterhouse so thick it has pelvis in it? Usually that cut comes from a bit forward of the hip...

Yes, I like meat, I like the taste, the feel. I've met plenty of cows and sheep and goats, they were generally nice creatures even outside of food consideration. I don't think there is anything inherantly immoral about eating another creature (I was a botany minor and tend to feel a little sympathy for the plants, for that matter) insomuchas all life lives off of other life, but that doesn't mean there aren't some ways to at least minimize the suffering we inflict on the rest of the world... life may be suffering but part of moving towards enlightenment is attempting to remove ourself from that suffering.

Any whoever asked "are you a health inspector?" no, I'm not, but my mother HAS done inspections of chicken and cow slaughterhouses and reports that they are generally pretty disgusting, unsanitary, and a wonderful place if you're a bacterium trying to make yourself into colony. You wanna say something bad about my mother? Huh?

and I'm met a few weird vegans (one didn't want to eat honey because she felt it exploited the bees) and I'v met more than a few weird meat-eaters (like the ones wo claim there's nothing inhumane about the treatement animals in factory farming)... I don't plan to give up meat any time soon, but I will generally say that the vegetarians have usually been more genuinely concerned with humanity (in several senses) and health, even if they could get a bit preachy at times. I think the main problem is that vegetarians tend to be a little more idealistic, and the carnivores a little more defensive, so everyone gets pissed off easily.

Jen, there's always a soapbox ready for you around me. You may have to fight a bit for the mike though, depending on the topic.
