03/03/1999: The Grunge Years

Posted By: GenocidalDream

I desperately miss and long for grunge music. If you haven't noticed they are making up for it.... what's the opposite of angst? POP. Hanson, The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, NSync, Five, Brittney Spears, must I go on? If this is how we clear up the depression, I will cling like hell to mine. The pathetic attempts rock is giving in the wake of grunge is leaving us with nothing but hip-hop and pop to listen to. Be glad you died when you did Kurt. Eminem is quite refreshing however in a genre of music where, just by being black, you are qualified to call yourself a gangsta, and if you have even one black friend, you have now grown up in the ghetto, if you hit on various women while doped up you're a player, and if you find anything at all messed up about any of the aforementioned you're a hata. C'mon the majority of grunge rockers came from the Pacific Northwest, and you think people in Montanna are crazy? In Seattle you have Boeing which is a plus for all rockers in conservative, dreary, lumberjack filled towns, where issues are formed by an owl making the endangered species list and flannel is a neccesity rather then a trend, at least MOST of the angsters were actually depressed. But then maybe it's because unlike the other kiddos out smoking weed, my drug of choice was heroin. Or maybe it can be blamed on the fact that I smoke Winstons instead of Newports, but whatever it is, give me back the days where we took a break from the 80's teenybopper, and kill these damn boy bands off, since at this point I'm sure I sound like another pathetic bipolar teenager (gee reality's a shocker) I'll end this now.
