10/19/1999: Office Space sucked

Posted By: TAB

I completely agree with Mr. C's review on this one. An office co-worker suggested I rent it and I was insulted by the film. After establishing the whole Dilbert scenario the film doesn't seem to know where to go. The lead character is hypnotized into acting like he's taken a bottle of valium. This gives him the nerve to ask out Jennifer Aniston - who must have been paid a fortune to phone in her performance: about two days' work from what I could tell. is this a "Take this job and shove it" movie or a "Take the money and run" movie? Neither. At the end the lead character is working a construction job. So what is the moral of the story? That ANYTHING would be better than working in an office? That's great if your construction job is in Santa Monica but try working outside in a Minnesota winter or a Georgia summer. I'll take the climate control, thank you.
