Usually, this would be the pointless PPV between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania - however, this time they're trying to spice things up by bringing back several people. Here goes:
-- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin v. Eric Bischoff
Did anyone read that interview in RAW magazine about why Austin left? I missed it, but I am curious about all that backstage political stuff. As for the match, you have a returning fan favorite against a heel owner who, at his best, gets more heat then even McMahon at his best - not hard to predict.
Prediction: Stone Cold opens a can of whoop-ass on Bisch.
--Hogan v. Rock
First televised match in months for both of these guys - hope Rock hasn't gotten rusty while he was out in Hollywood. Also, I hope Rock sticks around awhile - his current heel persona is hilarious, and his promos have pretty much run circles around Hogan's in the last few weeks. I'd almost forgotten how good a heel Rock could be - anyways, I see Hogan coming very, very close to winning, but losing out thanks to interference from Vince.
Prediction - Rock wins, thanks to Vinny Mac.
--RAW title: Steiner v. HHH
Interesting that this PPV features a rematch of one of the most liked matches of last year (Rock/Hogan) and one of one of the least liked matches of this year (HHH/Steiner). I hope Randy Orton's shoulder is up to 100% soon so that Evolution can wrestle some decent matches - as for this match, I see Evolution interfering on HHH's behalf and Booker T interfering on Steiner's behalf (Booker's highly rumored to face HHH at WrestleMania, yet he's not even wrestling at NWO - the feud needs to be stepped up soon).
Prediction - Someone causes a DQ, HHH keeps the belt yet again.
--Big Show v. Undertaker
That box thing's gotten kinda silly lately (Brother Love's good for a cheap laugh, but did they have to botch Kanyon's comeback that badly?) and I have no reason to have high hopes for this match - but I do see Nathan Jones coming into play here, possibly at Paul Heyman's latest client.
Prediction - Taker wins by DQ, gets attacked by Jones.
--RAW tag titles: RVD/Kane v. Storm/Regal
As far as teams randomly thrown together go, RVD and Kane aren't half bad. I'd rather see RVD go for the main title, but this one will do for now.
Prediction - RVD/Kane end up winning the tag belts for a week or 2.
--Jeff Hardy v. Chris Jericho
Was originally going to be Test v. Jericho, but Test & Stacy missed RAW during last week's blizzard and got written out of the PPV. Kinda wish they'd put Shawn Michaels in this match instead (maybe they're saving that one for WrestleMania), but hopefully this will end up OK - maybe Jeff will finally get some direction here.
Prediction - Y2J wins, Jeff Hardy snaps and turns heel for good.
--Cruiserweight Title: Matt Hardy v. Billy Kidman
I'd like to see Matt and Shannon Moore go for the Tag Titles, but that'll have to wait - for now, I think winning the Cruiserweight belt would go great with Matt's persona (especially since Kidman's been kinda boring lately - they should either pair him with Torrie Wilson onscreen or turn him heel).
Prediction - Matt Hardy wins, to the delight of all his MFers.
--Kurt Angle & Team Angle v. Lesnar, Edge & Benoit
This'll be Edge's last PPV match for a while - apparently, he's got one of those "out for a year" injuries. At this point, I think "Team Angle" should appear to be a force to be reckoned with (they shouldn't have had Benjamin & Haas job to Lesnar as quickly as they did on last week's SmackDown), so it makes sense for them to win here and have momentum going into WrestleMania.
Prediction - Kurt's crew wins it.
