05/10/01: Grundle and his opposition to eminent domain

Posted By: MAYORBOB

You stated that you opposed the concept of eminent domain. Then you posted that there are public roads all over the place and that the electrical wires should be strung over them.

How do you explain how those public roads got to become public roads? Didn't the land they occupy belong to someone at some dark, dank point in history? Even if they were set aside from private property when they were originally laid, how do you explain the expansion of them to accomodate the need for more lanes?

How do you think that electrification was brought to the rural areas of America? Haven't you ever noticed the power towers that traverse farmland? Do you think that they might be doing that because the shortest distance between two points might not involve following the paths laid out by roads?

Just a few questions that you can ask the Libertarian Magic Eight Ball.
