First off, Bound was not a better film then The Matrix. Bound was a pretty good low-budget noir, while Matrix was one of the best sci-fi films of the last 5 years (if not the best). I'm assuming that Matrix Reloaded (OK, that is a stupid title unless it has something to do with the plot) probably took up enough time and energy so that the Wachowskis simply couldn't do another project (though I would like to see what they follow the Matrix trilogy with).
As for Pearl Harbor, I think Disney sees it as both a huge blockbuster and a potential Academy Award winner, possibly even Best Picture (hey, if Titanic and Gladiator can win BP, why not PH?) I'm looking forward to it mainly due to the lack of anything else - all the pre-May movies are played out (and most of them I didn't bother seeing), I've already seen Mummy Returns, and I just can't get psyched over Knight's Tale, Angel Eyes, or Shrek. As for the "screwed" movies, Fast and the Furious looks like it might succeed where Gone in 60 Seconds and Driven failed while Evolution looks like Ivan Reitman is trying to replecate his Ghostbusters success via Men in Black...
M_H (who's really looking forward to Matrix 2)
