You're 17 and you need your mom to get you into rated R movies? What kind of loser theater are you going to? I haven't needed my parents to get me into a rated R movie since I turned 15 (I'm 17 now). And besides, doesn't rated R mean "Restricted audiences. Childrenunder 17 require accompanying adult" or something like that? Just curious...
As for Oedipus, after he married his mother (which he did wihout knowing it was his mother, BTW) he found out, and proceeded to poke his own eyes out. And killing his father was just an accident, too. Oedipus wasn't really a bad guy, just a victim of cruel fate.
