Well, a thread got deleted once because someone remarked to Cranky about it's size. It was a non-offensive thread, too.
Others got deleted for very good reasons, like death threats or EXTREME obscenity (the site DOES lack a warning about adult content).
It does seem that certain people have more pull when requesting a thread to be deleted because they are personally offended, but it could be that they are the only ones who are bothering to make a big enough fuss.
I don't think I have ever requested a thread be deleted, although I might have complained once or twice about impostors, but that was a LONG time ago. I HAVE had threads of mine deleted, and sometimes I didn't think it was fair, but I didn't blame Cranky, I blamed the people who made a big deal of it.
