05/25/1999: Mr. Cranky is ultimately responsible......

for deletion of any and all threads. I assume ANYONE can email Mr. Cranky and request that a thread be deleted, but he doesn't have to oblige any requests.

Even though it appears that some people do get threads deleted via email requests, Mr. Cranky bears responsibility for any perceived "censorship", since only he, Hans a perhaps some staff members make the final decision on what to delete. Sometimes, it's just a simple space issue.

Since I've never requested a thread deletion, exactly what is the protocol used for deleting a thread when a poster makes such a request??

Is it possible that occasionally Mr. Cranky deletes some threads for what HE perceives to be inappropriate or noxious remarks?? (Maybe he doesn't, I don't know) It's his site after all, and he doesn't have to explain any rhyme or reason for his decision to delete threads. I will say, the recently deleted thread from this forum certainly comes nowhere near being the most obnoxious thread to ever be deleted.

Name me ONE poster in here who has the power to request a thread deletion and have Mr. Cranky automatically grant the request. I'm not buying into any conspiracy theory here at all.
