Your claim deserves a two-part answer.

Part A: True in part. I was a lousy lawyer and if I were my boss I would have fired me too.

Part B: Ex-lawyer. I gave up the practice of law sixteen years ago this coming July and I haven't missed it for one second. You ought to get your facts right. I'm a historian now. In fact, a published historian, as you ought to know, with your penchant for research.

Of course, I research stuff worth researching. You grub around for stuff to make others look bad whether they deserve it or not. And your tendency to quote out of context is remarkable for its consistency, as is your tendency to overuse exclamation points and to call people "my friend" when you're actually looking for the place between the third and fourth ribs in which to slip your cyberstiletto.

I'm so sorry you're obsessed with me. That kind of mental disorder can be cured these days -- but you have to want to change.

To return to the comment I made:

Those who deserve healthy derision usually will find it sick, unless they have an adult sense of humor and an ability to laugh at themselves.

Note the carefully-chosen defining adjective: HEALTHY derision.

Note that the derision aimed at me of which some posters speak was not healthy derision, and various other folks here would tend to agree with that assessment of the nonhealthiness of the derision in question.

Note finally that Discord's derision of my lame and misguided attempt to accuse him and gnosticdogma of being the same person -- well, I can accept how stupid I was and laugh at myself now. It took some time but I got there.

I've had my problems with Discord, and he has had his problems with me, but I recognize that he takes nothing seriously at all, and I finally can accept that and take whatever he throws around in the spirit in which he does it.

So ... carry on.
