Just to note, you said that Open Your Eyes is a Spanish version of the Matrix. However, it came out 2 years prior to the Matrix. So, perhaps it would be better to say that the Matrix ripped off this film. On a similar note, Cameron Crowe is making an english version of this film staring Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz, a veteran of the original. The remake is called Vanilla Sky (right now, anyway). Why is it that Americans have such an aversion to reading subtitles that we must remake a good movie in our own language and even have the arrogance to use the same actors?
