THE OPPOSITE OF SEX was such a overhyped piece of American garbage that it's nearly impossible for me to find a starting point so I can start critising it. Not only was Ricci's 'self referential narrative' annoying, but the script was devoid of wit and the prominent gay theme was just an exploited stereotype and not a clever one either. This film tried to be insightful and provide the viewer with some deeper 'social commentary' to ponder after the credits have rolled but it was too shallow and obvious.
