But I believe they can also be used as a powerful teaching tool. They show how lynchings were not only common place, but that folks would literally line up to be in the photos, so proud of their "justice". and then to print up POSTCARDS of the events, like you would of a scenic overlook or a prize sow at the state fair.

Even more horrifying is the "Oops, wrong nigger" (paraphrase of an actual quote) attitude when they found out they had the wrong person. Just like saying "Ooops, killed the wrong bee; that wasn't the one that stung me; oh well", as if the person's life didn't matter.
