...who had to take a work-study job for the campus Phone-a- thon, I can guarantee you that your call probably ENTERTAINED the woman. In the very least, it woke her up. And it's better than calling someone to ask for money and find out that they:
a)died last week
b)have been unemployed since graduation
c)just had surgery that they aren't sure they can pay for
d)were recently left by their spouse and aren't really in the mood to make a generous donation
e)read the recent article about just how much DRINKING goes on at this school and are so horrified that they seriously doubt they will ever contribute to the alumni fund ever again.
