We jumped and then laughed, but it didn't kill the creepy feeling. They just needed a pause after that scene for us to compose ourselves and so we didn't miss anything.
And I figured the husband was dead, but didn't think Nicole was.
Oh Beast... when you post the twist ending to a film, make sure you put "spoilers" in the title so someone doesn't accidentally read it...although this whole thread is really about the ending and all, so probably no one would read your post if they didn't want to know the ending. Just for future reference. :)
