According to Liz Smith's column this morning, it's shorter by an hour now.

Thanks for the tip on the video - I plan to buy it and use it for class this quarter to supplement the play. Yeah, Ken, stole the movie, but that's not very hard. The part of Othello is something of a thankless one, being under-developed and psychologically unbelievable. Iago, like all great villains, gets all the best lines.

There's a video called Discovering Hamlet that you can probably get at libraries. It's a behind-the-scenes look at an RSC production of Hamlet - just happens to be Ken's first stab at the role, back in 1987 or so when Derek Jacobi directed. The glimpses you get of Ken's interpretation look somewhat over the top. As he admitted in his autobio, he may have played the antic prince just short of looniness. Anyway, it will be an interesting counterpoint to his "mature" sweet prince.
