Meanwhile, you missed a pretty good discussion about "The Others" in one of last week's forums. Personally, I don't think it was a rip-off of "The Sixth Sense," but I will admit that the movie brings to mind several obvious sources ("The Turn of the Screw" being the most obvious to me). What I liked about it was that it kind of uses the echos of its sources to its advantage-- you start to expect one thing, but they twist it just a little.
Anyway, as I type this, I realize that it's making no sense so I'm gonna try it again in a few days when I've actually slept.
