If it isn't made by Disney, he doesn't like it (and gee, what a coincidence - he works for Disney-owned ABC). His taste is almost always predictably awful.
I doubt "The Others" gets an Oscar nomination (Miramax will probably campaign for "The Shipping News" anyway), although Kidman may get a best actress nomination, if there is a certain lack of good female preformances.
