12/05/01: The latest monsterous development from Disney/Pixar... those whores

Posted By: Coaster

So, fellow movie buffs, guess what opens up this Friday besides the much anticipated (by me, at least) Ocean's Eleven? According to an ad my wife and I saw on TV this evening, a slightly revised Monsters, Inc. also premiers this Friday in a theater near you. It seems those greedy bastards at Disney/Pixar are re-releasing Monsters, Inc. with outtakes added. My wife, for one, was expecting outtakes when we saw this film several weeks ago, because this is what the Pixar people did in the Toy Story movies. Me, I don't remember the outtakes from Toy Story because I was just so damned relieved those movies were over, that my monumental feeling of relief probably obscured any memories of said outtakes. My wife and I loved Monsers, Inc., and I know my wife was disappointed that there were no outtakes. I'm sure many of us who plunked down part of the $200,000,000 this movie has so far grossed were equally disappointed. So, whoopie, we now get a chance to see outtakes. How nice, and all for the price of another ticket. I can't believe the studios have the chutzpah to release and enhanced Monsters, Inc. so close on the heels of its original release. How freakin' greedy and manipulative can those slimy bastards get? Gee, I'm so sorry the movie didn't gross another $100,000,000 in the first month of release. I guess they have to make their money back somehow. C'mon guys, the paying public rightly has the expectation to see the "whole" movie the first time.

Assholes.
