I don't know if Karen Sisco ever appeared in any other Elmore Leonard books (I haven't read them all). But you may be thinking of "Kathy Baker" in "Maximum Bob." My own two cents: it seems like Elmore Leonard writes ALL of his books with the hope or expectation that they will be made into a screenplay. Sometimes they more like pure scripts.
