I don't believe that Karen was in another Elmore Leonard book, at least she hasn't been in any others that I've read, but she was introduced in a short story where she was in love with another bank robber, a fact that was referenced in this book. I don't remember the name of the short story, it was in a book of crime stories that a friend loaned me.
