I find that all the elmore leonard books I have read, not including his westerns, simpley because I haven't read those, find a strange way to make light of the lives of criminals. Simply stated he is a whole lot of fun. I didn't read out of sight, however, jackie brown and get shorty are prime examples of how not to take any experience to seriously. Light Crime. Maybe we ought to turn the LAPD onto some of Elmore's writing.
