The quote is the last line from Beinhart's "American Hero", a book that was pure brilliance when addressing the actual formulation of the 'war', but floundered when it came to the by-the-book detective thriller portions. I think Barry Levinson would have shown MAJOR LEAGUE wontons if he'd adapted AMERICAN HERO directly for the screen and not abstracted it.
