"Point Blank" is based on the book "The Hunter" by Donald Westlake writing as Richard Stark. A new movie called "Payback," starring Mel Gibson, is based on the same novel. I would guess Mr. Cranky reviewed "Point Blank" to set up a comparison between the two films. Perhaps he reviewd "Demon Seed" because it was written by Dean Koontz and a new movie based on one of his books "Phantoms" is about to open.
