04/05/00: Saw it...wasn't terribly impressed

This film was at least edited and shot in an intruiging manner--such that there's no nauseating and blatant exposition (it's done through tripped-out flashbacks). Other than that, it's a guy in a suit killing people to get his money.

You know how you see a movie and say to yourself "this must have been based on a short story--a REAL SHORT story"? This is what POINT BLANK feels like. Keenan Wynn hangs around Lee Marvin without identifying himself and finally at the end, we see why. That type of story-telling device is amatuerish.

I liked PAYBACK much better--it was more stylish and had MUCH more humor, and a better (if less plausible) ending.

However, PAYBACK did fail to use the song "Bitch Betta Have My Money" by AMG in the soundtrack, which I count as a serious flaw.
