. . . that I am in agreement with, but let me add my vote to the underappreciation of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels".
Scenes: The opening credit sequence, when a rich woman offers first cash, then her jewels, then finally herself, and Michael Caine mutters, "Very well . . . for the children." I knew it was going to be good then.
Lines: "Ruprecht(not Rupert), if you don't stop, I'll get the genital cuff!"
I'll my votes for Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and Meaning of Life.
And here's another underappreciated one: What's Up Doc, from 1972. We have it on DVD, and we show it to friends over for dinner all of the time, and everyone screams with laughter! (of course, a lot of that is due to the magnificent first screen performance of Madeleine Kahn).
