But....you are *so* right about Cary Grant. ('Arsenic and Old Lace' is my fave of his too!)
May I recommend Harold Lloyd? He makes us all cry laughing.
P.S: What do you know about Preston Sturges? (You seem to know everything!) I have a dim memory of an old black-and- white movie called (i think) 'Hail The Conquering Hero.' It was shown as part of a director's season on the tube about ten years ago, but since I'd never heard of Sturges, I only caught the one by accident...
HTCH featured a doctor who kept 'explaining' everything....I found him one of the funniest characters I've ever come across on screen.
Do you know anything about it?
Good to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels get so much appreciation - it really is a classic.
