I haven't seen them all, but Crash is the worst Best Picture winner I've seen. Good Night and Good Luck blew it away, as did Capote (and PSH did deserve Best Actor). Haven't seen Munich or Brokeback Mountain. And there are always scores of great films every year that aren't even mentioned at the Oscars.
There were lapses of taste in the past, though. Remember that Love Story got a Best Picture nom in 1970.
