Sure, if I was on *that* plane I probably would have held back. My point was that things are different now. If I was on a plane tomorrow and there was an attempt to hijack it, there's no risk in trying to stop it anymore. If I do nothing, I'm probably dead, so I might as well go out trying to prevent a larger catastrophe. If they had a bomb, so much the better - they'd never reach their true target.
People are going to be much more likely to resist hijackers now, even if they will be greatly injured, or even killed. The alternative is much, much worse.
