EXACT SAME RULES AS LAST YEAR
Two different contests, the main one with six categories, and the secondary one for us REAL Oscar enthusiasts with all of the categories (except for short animation/documentary/etc.) -- and maybe this year I'll actually have time to grade the second contest!
For contest 1 you list the five people/movies you think will be nominated -- and then you get a sixth, your alternate. For each one you get correct you get one point - - unless it's your alternate, which only counts a half point because you weren't smart enough to make it one of your five main choices! Person with most points wins!
EXAMPLE:

(A)Kate & Leopold
You don't have to put (A) beside your sixth choice -- your sixth choice will automatically be your alternate.
Contest 2 is the same for the six categories it has in common with with Contest 1, but the rest of the categories don't get an alternate because I don't have time to calculate alternates for a couple dozen categories! Either you get 'em or you don't!
Obviously, winners will be determined on the morning of February 12th -- when the Oscar nominations are announced!

* = These categories all have "official selections" already made -- in other words, the committees have already selected the films that qualify for those awards, and no other films can be nominated for them. See:
