The Democrats amassed large amounts of money and plenty of foot soldiers for the presidential campaign. In my lifetime I have never seen the Democrats so united. Their hatred of the Bush administration was what did that.
They were also running against an incumbent with weak poll numbers. They should have clobbered the idiot-in-chief. Instead Chimpy barely eked out a win. To do it he "won" Ohio. Some people think it is suspicious that the polls showed Kerry leading Bush in Ohio and yet somehow Bush came from 6 points behind to take a state that has been hit hard by the Bush economy.
Kerry was a liberal Senator with the personal warmth of an IBM computer. The Democrats should try running human beings for office who are capable of connecting with the voters. Bill Clinton could certainly do that. Hillary is another matter.

PS: If the Democrats want to be the people's party they should get rid of their aristocrats like the Kennedy's and the Kerry's. Or at least push them into the background. Don't let them run for office.
