07/06/01: Some Bad News for Those Looking Forward to Rollerball

Posted By: Coaster

Apparently this movie possesses a suckitude of paulyshorian proportions.

These information below was printed in Tulsa World and credited "from wire reports."

The Rollerball remake, staring Chris Klein (American Pie) and LL Cool J, and directed by John McTiernan (Die Hard), was originally scheduled for release May 18. The release date was then pushed back to July 13 and later pushed back to August 1. Because Rush Hour 2 was going to be released on August 1, the date for Rollerball's release was subsequently delayed to August 17. The word is now out that Rollerball will not be seen at all this year. MGM's marketing and distribution president Bob Levin has scheduled the release of Rollerball for the first quarter of 2002.

Has there ever in the history of cinema been a film which has had its release purposely delayed that long that turned out not to be truly dreadful? Who the hell does Levin think he is trying to kid? This film must stink worse than a desert bound un-air conditioned Greyhound bus filled with rotting corpses, smoking section.
