*hangs head in shame* I may buy Lehane's novel after I see the movie.
I've heard that "Mystic River" (the novel) is nothing short of a masterpiece. Having said that, I'm glad I won't have to compare the movie to the book for now, although from what I've read, the movie is very faithful to the book. From all reports, this is Clint Eastwood's finest directorial effort. Ditto for Brian (LA Confidential) Helgeland's screenplay. And there is no question in my mind that the entire cast will be giving first-rate performances. Of course, there's the Sean Penn is a fucking brilliant actor and it takes place in Boston factor. Wicked hell yeah!
Speaking of Boston-based characters, HOW ABOUT THOSE RED SOX???
