PPV time yet again - first PPV since the roster split, should be interesting...
--WWF Title: Triple H v. Hulk Hogan
Ahh, the latest stop on the Hulk Hogan Farewell Tour. Question is, how long can Hogan's rejuvinated popularity last? He's not really that impressive in the ring (the "hulking up" looks silly, and the big leg drop isn't a particularly devistating looking finisher), and he probably doesn't have that much time left where he can physically wrestle. Still, its nice to see him in action again, at least till the nostalgia wears off. As for the match, I don't see Hogan winning the title just yet - Jericho will probably interfere and cost him the match.
Result - HHH beats HH, thanks to Y2J
--#1 Contender's Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin v. Undertaker, w/ Special Guest Ref Ric Flair
Question here is, are they turning Flair heel? If I had picked Hogan to win the title, I'd pick Austin here, since Hogan v. Austin would be a nearly perfect "80s v. 90s" battle, while Hogan has actually gone against Undertaker in the past. However, if built up right HHH v. Undertaker could be interesting, so I'm picking Taker (without a full- fledged heel turn from Flair, but with hints)
Result - Undertaker wins, thanks to "inadvertant" assistance from Flair
--Edge v. Kurt Angle
Seems like lately Edge has become almost a sidekick of Hogan's, which is a bit of a shame. I'd like to see a feud between Angle and Hogan (since Angle gets booed for doing the exact same things which Hogan used to get wildly cheered for), so for now I'll pick Angle.
Result - Angle wins, possibly thanks to "dirty tricks".
--WWF Cruiserweight Title: Billy Kidman v. Tajiri
Kidman seems to me like a guy who is talented, but needs to make more of a name for himself. As much as I like Tajiri (though if he's going to be a hell I really hope they move away from the stereotypical Japanese stuff), I see Kidman winning the match and the girl (Torrie will get sick of all the geisha girl crap).
Result - Kidman retains the Cruiserweight belt.
--WWF IC Title: RVD v. Eddie Guerrero
Eddie's really bulked up during his away period - glad he was able to kick his habit, at least for now. Still, I'm a big RVD fan, so I have to give him this one - this could still be the best actual match on the card though...
Result - RVD retains after a hell of a match.
--WWF Women's Title: Jazz v. Trish
Seems odd that the women's belt can go between the divisions while that tag belts can't - most of the women who can actually wrestle (Lita, Molly, Jackie, Trish) are in the RAW group. I'm not sure that I care about this match, so I'll just give it to Trish - she's managed to go from being just eye candy to actually being able to do shit in the ring...
Result - Trish becomes the Women's Champ again.
--WWF Tag Team Titles: Billy & Chuck v. Al Show & Maven
For some reason, the WWF has really let its tag division go lately - they split up the Dudleys, APA, and Scotty & Albert, plus they put the Hardyz on RAW and the tag belts on Smackdown. I'd like to see Maven turn heel eventually (preferably around the time Tough Enough 2 ends - I'm just not getting into it as much as I did last year), but for now I see him and Al Snow winning the belts for a week or 2.
Result - Al Snow and Maven win the Tag Titles.
--Brock Lesnar v. Jeff Hardy
Let's see - big, scary looking new guy who's being made to look like a monster, against a tag team wrestler best known for insane aerial stunts. Brock's quickly becoming a fave of mine, so I think he'll win this one pretty damn decisively.
Result - Brock squashes Jeff.
--Bradshaw v. Scott Hall
The nWo really needs new blood if it wants to be taken seriously; let's face it, when a once great stable is down to 2 members, and one of them is X-Pac, something really needs to be done. Hopefully they'll debut a new member here (Scott Steiner if they can get him, otherwise Big Show or Brock Lesner) and the new member will enable Scott "Toothpick" Hall to win.
Result - Scott Hall wins, thanks to interferance.
