04/22/02: Tremendous PPV!

>>Tajiri beat Kidman for the Cruiserweight Title (and Torrie didn't ditch him)

It warmed my heart to hear the crowd chanting "Kid-man, Kid- man." It just shows that the fans will respond to good wrestling. Going forward: I'd keep them apart for one PPV - - maybe work Christian or Chavo in there, and leave the rematch for Summerslam.

Scott Hall beat Bradshaw, thanks to X-Pac

Bradshaw could be worse I guess. Hall's o.k., not an unacceptable match, which I thought was possible. Going forward: Kane's out for awhile, so I don't know what happens next. . .Bubba Ray Dudley could get involved, I guess. Rikishi doesn't seem to be too busy.

Jazz beat Trish, keeping the Women's Title

They kept it tight and short, I wasn't bored. Going forward: I'm guessing Molly and Trish go at each other for the #1 Contenders spot next.

Brock Lesnar beat Jeff Hardy, after the ref stopped the match.

Ouch. Lesnar's an animal. And, by the way, comparisons to Goldberg are bullshit. Lesnar can WRESTLE. He's the next HHH if he can work a mic at all. Going forward: There's obviously a Lita-Heyman-Hardyz story that's going to go on here, which, in some ways, is too bad, because the Lesnar push is going to require that he crush these guys, and I'd like to see Matt Hardy get a good singles run. I'd run a rematch at Judgement Day, with Jeff taking another savage beating. Then he goes one-on-one with Matt at Summerslam -- No DQ at Matt's request, setting the stage for a Lita - "I'm betraying you so you don't get hurt" heel turn.

Kurt Angle beat Edge

Finally. The "real" Edge stands up and delivers a main- event caliber singles match. The WWF Title is not far away. Going forward: It'll likely be rematch a Judgement Day: if that's it, let's add a stip., maybe a "last man standing" match. Frankly, Edge really delivered, I'd put him in a Triple Threat for the #1 Contender's spot with Angle and Jericho at Judgement Day and see what happens.

Eddie Guerrero beat RVD for the IC belt

Latino Heeeeeeet. Another great match. Going forward: It has to be ladders, doesn't it?

Undertaker beat Austin in the #1 contender's match, but it was due to a "mistake" by Flair

Slow. Slow. Slow. And I don't think it was the Undertaker's fault. Stone Cold hasn't been on his game recently. I hope these guys will be feuding on Raw a bit, because I loved 'takers "Say 'what' if you wanna sleep with your sister." promo. Flair's involved now, so my guess is he'll add Austin to the main event of Judgement Day. Hogan-'Taker- Austin? Ugh.

Chuck & Billy retained over Al Snow & Maven

Lost in the Brock Lesnar hype is the excellent debut work of Rico Constantino, aka, Rico the stylist. Man, the fans HATE Rico. Maven actually looks pretty sharp. Going forward: Keep these teams together and keep the feud going.

Hogan beat HHH for the WWF Title; the match had interferance from both Undertaker and Y2J

Hulkamania is runnin' wild again. Surprisingly tight match. Hogan may not have any moves, but he SELLS well and the crowd loves him. Maybe Hulkamania has a limited shelf life, but, I gotta admit, it was fun to see Hogan win. Going forward: Is a HHH heel turn in the works? Maybe. Who is HHH's next opponent? Jericho? 'Taker? There are a LOT of ways to go here, which makes it really interesting. I'd bet on Austin-HHH or HHH-Jericho as one of the Summerslam Main Events, but I'm interested to see what's next.
