The reason I ask is because I am thinking of renting this some night, as I've read the story on which it is based, Philip K. Dick's "Second Variety." It was one of the best science fiction stories I have ever read, and the last line truly sums up Dick's brilliance as a writer.
Unfortunately, Hollywood has a bad habit of screwing up movies based on stories by Dick. The only movie that has not suffered from this problem is "Blade Runner," but the other two movies I've seen ("Total Recall" and "Minority Report") sucked like a Chinese whore on a sugar rush. But if there is a chance that "Screamers" might not disappoint, I'll consider seeing it.
