04/01/97: It's probably true, but does it matter?

I read similar stuff in People Magazine. Sure, it's not the world's most reliable source, but it must have had some thread of truth if they printed it. About Selena's family and their involvement, I guess this film was meant to honor her public persona, which it did. In that case, the family's cooperation was crucial.

Had Selena been a more important talent in the grander music scene, an indepth investigation of the truth of her life would've been more interesting. As it is, nobody but her die hard fans cares about her anyway, so why bother digging up the dirt?
