Because everyone knows SOOOO many crimes get committed with .50 caliber weapons. Heck, didn't you know the .50 cal is the preferred weapon of gangs and street thugs in L.A. and N.Y.? Being as they're so cheap and easy to conceal, the government really needs to restrict their sales post haste.
