We could have spin-offs of the show Friends. Rachel and Ross get their own show. It could be worse.
Now when a TV show such as a sitcom becomes big, the actors end up doing really bad comedies on the silver screen.
During the 70's and 80's a show was not big until it had spin offs.
Some spin offs became good shos in their own right, others were bad, trying to ride the thunder of a popular show.
Norman Lear was the king of spin-offs.
Making a hit show is hard, getting a successful spin off is harder.
Duke of hazzard spun-off ENOS. A show that was total tv shit. All In the Family also had a spin off for Gloria. total disaster.
All In the Family also created the Jeffersons. Differnet Strokes spun off Facts of Life and Hello Larry. Only Facts would survive.
Three's Company had Three's a Crowd.
Cheers spins off Fraiser, in my opinion the last great Spin Off.
